Pi in the Real World

Pi can be very useful in the real world, if you know where to look.

For example, when mu plumber was installing my new water heater, he used pi to figure out how much metal taped he needed to seal the vent. He knew the diameter of the pipe was 5 inches so he estimated 3.14×5 and figured that he needed about 16 inches of tape.
